Reeds for Every Taste
Making reeds in large batches has never been easier.
The R'S cookie cutters are made of stainless steel, making them both food and dishwasher safe. Roll out a sheet of dough and enjoy making reeds
in a whole new way.
Here is a simple and delicious recipe for butter cookies – perfect for the Christmas season or simply as a sweet snack:
Ingredients
250 g Flour
125 g Sugar
125 g cold Butter
1 Egg
1 Packchen Vanilla Sugar (or 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract)
1 Pinch Salt
Optional for Decoration:
Powdered Sugar for Glaze
Sprinkles, Chocolate Chips or Chopped Nuts
Prepare the Dough:
Combine the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt in a bowl.
Add the butter in small pieces and mix by hand or with a mixer until crumbled.
Add the egg and knead until all the dough is smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Form the Cookies:
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Place some flour on a board or surface and roll the dough out to about 0.5 cm thick.
Use the cookie cutters to cut out the cookies and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake:
Bake the cookies in the oven for 8 - 10 minutes, or until they are a light golden-brown.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool off.
Decoration (optional):
Mix the powdered sugar with a small amount of water or lemon juice until it forms a glaze. Use this to cover the cookies.
Embellish with sprinkles, chocolate chips, or nuts as desired.
Tip:
The dough can easily be prepared in advance and frozen. Simply thaw before the next baking session and continue.
