Knowing what is happening in the orchestra during important excerpts is key to building a proper interpretation. These trios allow the student to hear what is happening without the need of an entire orchestra.
At the request of instructors at Juilliard, Mannes College, and Manhattan School of Music, many of the most common audition excerpts have been arranged for three bassoons and are sold as a collection.
One bassoon plays the excerpt, while the other two play the orchestral parts.
Several contrabassoon excerpts are also included.
