It is always possible to put a piece of wood with a smaller diameter into a larger bed, but not the other way around. That is why we recommend ordering a larger diameter machine. For example, if you are using wood 12 - 12.5, you should choose the larger diameter, namely 12.5mm, for the bed of your machine. The same applies to gouging machines.
If you already have a gouging machine, the choice is easy. For the pregouging machine, choose the same bed diameter as for your gouging machine.

While pregouging can be done with dry cane, we recommend pregouging soaked cane, as it prolongs the life of the blade and makes the machine easer to use. After using the machine, please remember to dry off the machine and blades and wipe a drop of oil on the blades with a paintbrush to avoid rust.
